I returned to HMS Defiance again in July 1993 after leaving HMS Spartan, this time, I was working on MAC 1014 Nuclear Repair Barge as the LMEM in the steam drains shop. I took over from  another LMEM who despite following Blackburn Rovers, was actually quite a nice bloke. The job involved cutting out damaged or worn bellow seal valves and either repairing them or replacing them before they were welded back into the pipework.

I was just getting into this before I was drafted to HMS Neptune in Faslane on loan as Project LMEM liaising with Rolls Royce.
